Meet Jane, Again, Or For The First Time.

Meet Jane, Again, Or For The First Time.

Q: Where were you born and raised?
A: I was born and raised here in Seattle.

Q: What made you want to do hair?

A: My back round in theater made me want to do hair and makeup. I was so amazed by how everything came together with those finishing touches. Wig making blew me away, though I like working with people much more. They’re much better conversationalists.

Q: Where did you train at?
A: Seattle Vocational Institute, where Jen was one of my instructors, and really supported me building my talents up to graduation, when I came to work at Pinup.

Q: How did you start at pinup?
A: I started out doing hair and makeup styling for a photography studio that Pinup frequently partnered with, and also worked at the West Seattle location for a short time, prior to Ravenna being opened. I then became full-time at the Ravanna location, as soon as the paint dried 🙂

Q: What Inspires you?
A: I am inspired a lot by fashion and runway. A little of everything, from TankGirl to Maria Antoinette. At the moment I am in love with boho looks with pastel flair. I am dangerously close to having a very inspiring relationship with neon.

Q: What is your favorite service to do?

A: My favorite service to do right now, is Ombre hair coloring. I dont think I have a favorite in general, because I get to do something new everyday and I love my job. My ” favorite ” is not really a specific service, since it’s more so my clients that make my  job so enjoyable.

Q: Favorite product?
A: My favorite product is Pearatin serum by :oma, because it gives everybody a little something they need. Color + heat protection + shine + hair heath and repair?! Oh My! Its also mild enough to use on skin, so its the only thing I ever use to heal my tattoos. I swear by it.

Q: If you weren’t at Pinup, what would you be doing?

A: If I weren’t at pinup , I would most likely be doing photography hair and makeup or working primarily on specialty events, like weddings. I love that type of work as well. I know that I would start to miss the client reaction and day to day salon environment though, so behind the chair is the place for me at the moment! 🙂

Q: What is a little known fact about you?

A: LOL! Hmmm…I have always wanted to be a comedian. Also, my dyslexia has made me a pro at saying names backwards.

Come see Jane at our Ravenna location. She’d love to meet you and learn more about you too! She has a great sense of humor, which you can tell from this awesome photo we stole from her Facebook. Hehe!
